Flowers to match your Wedding VenueThe style of your wedding ceremony and wedding reception venues may influence the type of floral decoration you choose. Your florist may visit the venue to assist in deciding the best placement for stunning Pedestal arrangements, something spectacular for the top table and matching individual designs for your guest's tables.
Silk arrangements can be designed not only for the day but keepsakes for your home or to give to special guests.
Church CeremonyWith a more traditional church wedding, please ask the minister if there are any restrictions on where flowers may be placed. Find out if there is a florist who regularly decorates the church that you can approach. Alternatively, you could choose a florist from the local area who will be familiar with the church.
Traditionally fresh flowers were used in the Church for fragrance. If you have a preference for Silk Flowers, some florists will hire the larger displays which can then be moved to your reception - saving you lots of money!
Displays - possible locations to consider
- The Entrance
- Pew End Arrangements or Bows
- Font
- Window Ledges
- Pedestal Arrangements either side of the Nave
- The Altar
Venue CeremonyBy holding your wedding ceremony at the same venue as your reception you gain the benefit of using the same displays in both the ceremony and reception rooms.
If you choose a floral arch for the ceremony and/or matching pedestals displays, they could be used as a great backdrop for the photographs and then positioned in your reception area to highlight Top Table, the Cake Table (especially for photographs of cutting the cake) or a dramatic welcome for your guests.
Large arrangements look stunning but can be expensive, so check if your florist can manage this or consider hiring a silk centerpiece.
